TRAVERSE CITY, MI – He’ll huff and he’ll puff and he’ll blow their house down!  Find out the real story behind the three little pigs. Saturday, November 24th, Paul Mesner and his award-winning puppets are coming to City Opera House to tell the wolf’s take on the feud between him and the three little pigs. The True Story of the Three Little Pigs By A. Wolf is an entertaining puppet production perfect for a family outing over Thanksgiving weekend. Tickets are just $8 and shows are at 11am and 1:30 pm.

Think you know the real story behind the huffing and puffing? Think again. There’s only one individual who knows the true story about one wolf, three houses, and three little pigs: Alexander T. Wolf. In this revealing, no-squealing adaptation of Jon Scieszka’s popular book, A. Wolf tells his side of the story. He only wanted a cup of sugar and he had a cold. Mr. A. Wolf tells all about what really happened to those three little houses made of straw, sticks, and bricks and the pigs who lived in them. Paul de Barros of the Seattle Time says it’s “So funny it would melt the Ice Age… Mesner is truly hilarious… a complete entertainer.”

It’s up to parents to decide if their little ones are old enough to sit through the show. According to Mesner, lots of kids squirm through puppet shows, and it’s perfectly acceptable. The show is fifty minutes in length.

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs By A. Wolf was published in the 1980’s and has been beloved by teachers. Through the story, students learn about perspective. If you hear only one side of any story, are you really getting the whole truth? Mesner has been performing the show for about seven years, and he has tried to stay faithful to most aspects of the book.

Mesner’s lively performances present classic stories recast in contemporary terms. Audiences across the United States have delighted in the precise craftsmanship, dynamic presentation, and joyful blending of humor and education in all his productions. He has received awards for educational and artistic achievement, including two UNIMA-USA (Union Internartionale de la Marionette) Citations for Excellence in Puppetry and the Distinguished Service to Education Award from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs By A. Wolf is generously sponsored by Auto-Owners Insurance, Brilliant Book, Families First Magazine, and KidzArt.
