What’s up this weekend? This sounds like alot of fun! The Sleeping Bear Community does alot in Traverse City, it’s our local Hub! So occassionally locals and visitors (ususally a rainy day in the summer)will head to TC! So I suggest heading to TC Day and take advantage of this fun event. Chili just sounds good this time of year!

My I sugguest this weekend that you go for a snowshoe hike! My daughter went over the holidays and enjoyed it. Great exercise, fresh air and a great way to see the park and some wildlife! The snowshoe hikes run every Saturday and Sunday in January and February from 1-3pm in the afternoon. You will need a park pass for this. Meet your park guide at 1:00 at the visitors center on M-72 in Empire. If you have any questions here is the number to call 231-326-5134 x328. Have a great time!
For all the sports enthuiast this is it. Just thought I would write this up so you would have time for training.
This event involves a 2 mile run up the Sleeping Bear sand dunes, 17 mile bike ride around Little Glen and Big Glen and the final event is a One Paddle event on the water! Can you do it! Here’s the details: 2011 M22 Challenge registration opens March 1, 2011 at www.m22challenge.com only 400 spots! The 3rd Annual Challenge takes place June 11th same day as the Leland Wine Festival! Tonight the Spartans and Wolverines are playing basketball! A little more exciting then this blog!
Creating this blog was a trip! I’m so glad I don’t have to make a living doing web design! Maybe it’s better than the Real Estate Market. We all have to have a sense of humor about this! Just checking to see how or should I say IF this site does what I want. I’m sure it has more capibilities than I have time to figure out! Post and = see what happens.
Well it’s cold here at the Sleeping Bear but there is plenty of snow for skiing and snowmobiling. With the wind calming down I would suggest a day of fishing on the ice. Looking out over Glen Lake more and more shanties are out there. Just make sure the lake you’re fishing has nice thick ice. Be Careful!
This is a taste of what this site will be about. Hopefully the delivery will improve as to the participation..leave us a comment!
January 31 is set to be the formal Launch Day
