If your looking for something to do this weekend whether you live here or are visiting it’s a great time to take a walk in the forest/park! Do your homework if you don’t know how to tell the difference between fake and real morels. It is time to find morels THIS WEEKEND! May 13th…as the tempertures have been perfect 50 degrees at night and 70 degrees during the day! So enjoy your weekend and good luck in your hunt for the morels! Morels in Leelanau and Benzie are the best!
FYI you can find morels near Bar Lake or on the Pierce Stocking Drive area of the Sleeping Bear National Park Area in Leelanau.. I’ve heard Glover’s Lake and the National Forest area, is also a good spot. Check out the National Park areas for access to various forest in the areas of Leelanau and Benzie…again good luck.
