2012 Chef Tour

 Harrington’s by the Bay

13890 South West Bayshore Drive

Traverse City

Monday, March 5th

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Welcome to the 5th Annual Chef Tour, Northern Michigan’s premiere dining experience!  In March, we invite you to feast at Traverse City’s newest fine dining venue, Harrington’s By The Bay.  Rustic, elegant, yet just unbuttoned enough to avoid stuffiness, Harrington’s by the Bay reminds us why we choose to live in Northern Michigan ~ from its expansive views of the bay and soaring ceilings to its gleaming hardwood accents and flickering fireplaces.

Graciously perched on the beautiful shores of West Grand Traverse Bay, Harrington’s By the Bay hand cuts each steak in-house, serves only USDA PRIME grade beef, and features a 750 bottle hand-crafted wine room designed by owners Glen Harrington and John McGee. Your ticket to Harrington’s By The Bay Chef Tour includes all courses, wine from Black Star Farms, tax, and tip.

Meet the Cast and Crew!

Chef George Weir

Before coming to Harrington’s By The Bay Chef George Weir was born in the state of Washington.  It was there where his culinary career began at the age of 15.  By the time George was 18, his Master Chef recognized his potentials and sent him to Austria to begin training as an executive chef.  After 9 years in Europe, Chef George returned to the US, working at many four and five star restaurants and hotels in Las Vegas.  Chef George has amassed many awards and has been published numerous times.

Black Star Farms

Black Star Farms’ is a popular Northern Michigan agricultural destination with a B & B Inn, artisan wines and spirits, cheese, and specialty farm goods. Their varietal wines are of high character, acidity, and balance. Fruit is sourced from both its own vineyards and local grower-partners. Many are award winners and all represent the best efforts of the Black Star Farms’ skilled winemaking team. Visit their tasting rooms in Suttons Bay, Old Mission, or in the Mercato at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons.

The Chocolate Den

We are SO excited to welcome The Chocolate Den to the 2012 Chef Tour as our new sustaining sponsor!  Owned by William and Heather Bradley, The Chocolate Den is more than just your grandma’s candy store.  With artisan truffles, hand-crafted chocolates, caramels, barks and baked goods, The Chocolate Den is sure to satisfy the most discerning sweet tooth.

In addition to their exquisite selection of chocolates and confections, The Chocolate Den now carries a full line of gluten-free baked goods and sugar-free treats! Located at 324 East Front Street in Traverse City, Michigan, they are right in the heart of the beautiful downtown district.
